“The towels were stained, and the mattress was very hard. This is an older hotel and you can tell by the appearance the carpet and bathroom. The room was clean. I just don’t understand why they can’t invest in new towels.”

“The split unit AC made a giant half an inch deep puddle in front of my door which caused me to track water in my room despite my best efforts and this made for a nearly deadly slippery situation... The Wi-Fi did not work 90% of the time nor did the remote to the TV. This place is filled with destitute people and families seeking refuge. They all kept to themselves but it really added to the downtrodden destitution of the place. Had the room been 60 or $70? It would have been fair 50$ and it……

“Not pet friendly at all. Check in was extremely rude. My dog has traveled this entire trip with me. He has been welcomed everywhere with open arms. Not here. No dogs in lobby had to go in and out the side door. All employees were extremely rude as soon as they saw the dog and constantly reminded me of the dog rule. I would not recommend if you are traveling with a dog.”

“The place is under a new management and has been remodeled. The whole place was extremely clean. We did have some problems with the keyless locking system and did not have internet for the night we stayed there. There is a restaurant that had just opened from 7:00 to 3:00 and a 24-hour convenience store that is well lit with little snacks and sodas and such in vending machines. The location is quite quiet and right off the Blue Ridgeparkway. Pretty close to an excellent restaurant Chateau……

“We had a fantastic family stay at Bernard’s Landing. The condo was clean, comfortable, quiet, and a great home base for exploring Smith Mountain Lake. The location was the biggest highlight. We enjoyed the private lakeside beach, pools, walking paths, waterfront views, and beautiful sunsets without needing to drive everywhere. We rented a pontoon from The Dock at Smith Mountain Lake and spent a full day boating, tubing, swimming, and relaxing on the water. We also visited Smith Mountain Lake……
